Last month, New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman received a 4-game suspension due to violation of the NFL’s performance-enhancing substance policy.
Despite this, Edelman appealed to have his suspension lifted. NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported that Edelman’s representatives tried to argue his appeal last Monday, saying that there were faults in the drug testing leading up to the suspension. Regardless of the argument presented by Edelman’s representatives, there was not enough evidence to revoke the suspension, the reports claim.
Edelman previously suffered a torn ACL, ending his 2017 season and now the Patriots will have to deal with his absence again. Edelman will miss the first four regular season games of 2018 against the Houston Texans, Jacksonville Jaguars, Detroit Lions and Miami Dolphins.
The Patriots receiver however, is able to participate in training camp and play all of the preseason games.
