In this ongoing series we take a look at each teams most likely player to have a breakout season.
The Chicago Bears are primed to have a breakout year. We all expect quarterback Mitch Trubisky to take leaps into superstardom this season with the addition of multiple offensive weapons.
On the other side of the ball, there is a cornerback who almost didn’t even make the team last year. CB Kyle Fuller ended up separating himself from the rest of the CB core by the halfway point of the season.
Fuller was third in the league in 2017 in passes breakups. He really excelled in off-man coverage. He had a solid year for a guy who only made the roster due to injuries.
The 2014 first round draft pick has eight career interception in three seasons. He missed the entire 2016 season after a surgery in his knee.
Fuller is expected to transition into a shutdown corner this season. This will be the second season in the new Bears defensive system which really helped him flourish last year.
