After Tuesday night’s 6-4 loss to the Minnesota Twins, Detroit Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera will undergo season ending surgery on his left bicep.
Cabrera was at the plate for his second at bat when swinging at a 1-1 pitch, immediately dropped his bat and began to walk back to the dugout.
Cabrera was originally diagnosed with a left bicep strain. Manager Ron Gardenhire broke the news to reporters following the game. More to come as this story develops.
