The Golden State Warriors are the definition of game changers.  They have just won their 3rd championship in 4 years against one of the best players to ever play the game.  They are changing the way the game is played with every championship won and this won’t be the last.

If you read my article (https://gamechangersportsnetwork.com/2018/05/12/how-long-can-the-all-star-quad-really-last/) back in May about how long the Warrior core could stay in tact, you’d know that it is possible and likely that they stay together AT LEAST till the 2019-2020 season.

The cause and effect that this team is having on the NBA is completely game changing.

In the 2013-2014 season, the top five three point shooting teams were; the Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Clippers, Golden State Warriors, Portland Trail-Blazers, and the Atlanta Hawks.  They combined for a total of 3,865 three pointers made.

This season, the top five three point shooting teams were;  The Houston Rockets, Brooklyn Nets, Cleveland Cavaliers, Toronto Raptors, and the Dallas Mavericks.  They combined for a total of 5,213 three pointers made.

Thats an increase of almost 35%!

You can assume that these increasing numbers come from teams trying to adapt to the style of play by the Warriors in hopes of beating them.

Even Andre Drummond is working on his long range shot for next season.

The pace of play set by the Warriors is skewing almost every other statistical category in the NBA as well.  The game is simply being played faster by the Warriors and its challenging everyone else to catch up.

With that being said I believe the Warriors have a chance to win AT LEAST two more championships with the same core they have right now.  Even if they aren’t able to retain Draymond Green, and Klay Thompson with extensions and for some reason they lose one of them or both they are still a championship contender with just Stephen Curry, and Kevin Durant.

My Predication is that they are able to retain the main core and win the next two championships, making it 5 championships in 6 years.   We’ll have to see what the team looks like then and how the NBA has adjusted to see if any more will be in the cards.
