Eric Spicely vs Darren Stewart:
Both men are coming off losses, and in their last six fights they are a combined 0-6. I like Spicely as a fighter, but his timidity will cost him here. I’m funny with the aggressive nature of Darren Stewart to win by 2nd round TKO.
Davey Grant vs Manny Bermudez:
Davey Grant was a feel good story on his season of TUF, but he hasn’t fought since October 2016. Manny Bermudez is 11-0, and only 23 years old. Manny Bermudez is going to blitz through the 32 year old Grant. I have Bermudez by 1st round KO, and moving to a perfect 12-0.
Jason Knight vs Makwan Amirkhani:
This fight is going to be explosive. Both dudes simply love to scrap. This has the potential to be the fight of the night. Both men are coming off losses, and are 0-3 in their last three fights combined. Makwan is the more creative striker, whereas Knight is the more powerful fighter. This is going to be an exciting one for the fans. My pick is going to be Jason Knight winning by decision and getting back into the win column.
Arnold Allen vs Mads Burnell:
This is also a great fight for the fans. Arnold Allen hasn’t lost since 2014. He has a great mix of knock outs and submission wins. Burnell has mostly submission wins, with a few decisions sprinkled in. I’m picking Arnold to win here and keeping his winning streak rolling. Arnold Allen by 1st round TKO.
Neil Magny vs Craig White:
Neil Magny is the ultimate iron man when it comes to his conditioning and work ethic. He holds the record for the most UFC wins in a calendar year with 5 back in 2014. Craig White is taking this fight on short notice, and Neil Magny has a tendency to be stagnant at times. I think Craig can capitalize on that and use pressure and striking to get the win. My official pick is Craig White in the upset by a close split decision.
Stephen Thompson vs Darren Till:
This fight is maybe the most intriguing on the card. It’s essentially kickboxing/karate vs Muay-Thai/boxing. Stephen Thompson has a 65-0 pro kickboxing record. Darren Till has been training Muay-Thai in Brazil for years. Daren Till did miss weight for this weight by 3.5 pounds, although he had a family emergency he had to attend to, which I feel was the reason for the miss. That gives him an advantage. Darren Till likes to come straight forward and bully his opponents, which is the kind of fighter Thompson thrives against. He looks for counters and uses them very well. This fight is very hard to predict, but I’m going to stick with Darren Till. He gets it done by TKO in the second round, as he himself has predicted.
