Doc Rivers was headed into the 2018-2019 season in the final year of his contract. That has now changed as the Los Angeles Clippers have come to an agreement with their head coach to extend his contract.

The specifics on the Contract have not been released.

This next season will be Doc’s 20th season as a head coach and is one of two active NBA coaches to have over 800 wins. He has won over 63% of the games he’s coached over his five year tenure with  Los Angeles.

The Clippers were pleased at how Doc handled this past year after trading Chris Paul and Blake Griffin. They had barely missed the playoffs but their coach was still up beat about the adversity that was met throughout the season.

Doc said himself that he is proud of what they’ve done in his 5 years with the team but there is a lot more work to get to where they want to be.

He is looking forward to getting back to developing a team that can compete with the best.
