Kamaru Usman vs Stephen Thompson/Darren Till winner: well it wasn’t the most impressive win for Usman. He still beat the #5 welterweight contender and it was still convincing, so a win is a win. I don’t think he’s ready for a title shot, mainly because RDA and Covington will fight for an interim title. The winner of Thompson/Till would be a good test for either man. The grappling of Usman against the striking of either man could get interesting. I would like to see Usman fight the winner towards the end of summer.

Tatiana Suarez vs Carla Esparza/Claudia Gadelha winner: Tatiana did exactly what I expected her to do, use her superior grappling and get a submission win. As dominant as you could be, she was. She will most likely break into the top 10 of the women’s Strawweight division. Her next test should come in the form of Esparza or Gadelha. The Esparza matchup intrigued me the most because of the wrestling background that both women have. Claudia’s BJJ could pose some serious threats as well.

Dominick Reyes vs Sam Alvey/ Gian Villante Winner: Dominick Reyes was able to remain unbeaten Saturday night, scoring the biggest win of his career to date, with a  TKO of Jared Cannonier in the first round. In my opinion, Reyes is ready for a ranked opponent. The winner of Villante vs Sam Alvey would be perfect. Stylistically, the fight would be fireworks. Reyes would have the better wrestling ability in either matchup, but I doubt he would use it.

Vicente Luque vs Dong Hyun Kim: On Saturday night, nobody did more to raise their stock than Vicente Luque. This young man scored a huge KO victory over former TUF Winner Chad Laprise. At the ripe age of 26, Luque is ready to take on the top 15 of the division. Dong Hyun Kim is the perfect guy to test Vicente. Kim’s judo could threaten Luque, but it’s a match that I find very interesting. Kim is ranked #15 in the welterweight division, but Vicente could easily take that spot with another win. That’s the route I see for my man ‘The Silent Assassin’ Vicente Luque.
