Outfielder for the New York Mets, Juan Lagares, is being forced to call it a season after MRIs showed that Lagares had torn the plantar plate in his big toe. Lagares sustained the injury on Wendsday after he ran into the outfield wall.
The bad news train just keeps on rolling through the New York Mets backyard, as yet another injury has plagued the team. This is their second injured outfielder in less than a week, with Yoenis Cespedes already being placed on the DL for a hip injury.
The loss of the 29 year old will be a hefty one, as Lagares had been hitting a phenomenal .339 in 59 at-bats this season.
