With the first pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the Indianapolis Colts select QB Andrew Luck. Luck was drafted as the next superstar QB to be at the helm of the Colts. After a few promising years, Luck started getting de-railed by injuries.
We are going into the 2018 NFL season and Andrew Luck hasn’t played a snap since the end of the 2016 season. Over a full year since he has last seen the field.
This seems to be a story that just won’t end. The Colts have not handled this situation very well, to say the least. It seemed like they didn’t want to admit that Andrew would miss the entire season for the first half of last year. Even when it was pretty obvious he wouldn’t seen the field.
Colts owner Jim Irsay has finally stated that Luck should be good to go by the start of training camp. His exact words were that he had “no doubt” Luck would be on the field. Before you start jumping up and down Colts fans, Irsay said the same thing last year.
The difference this year is that Luck has had an entire season and a half to recover. If he doesn’t come back now, there’s a good chance he won’t ever come back. Training camp is right around the corner, so the only thing we can all do is speculate and wait.
