Okay guys, I am pretty upset I wasn’t invited to the “Dinger Party” in the Bronx yesterday but let me be the first to say I told you this would happen; and if you aren’t an instant fan of this team, now is the perfect time to hop on the bandwagon. The fans were booing Stanton after his 5 K debut performance in the home opener but boy did the baby bombers put on a show yesterday as Stanton, Judge and Sanchez each hit 2 Run homers in the 7-2 victory against the Rays.
Giancarlo, I mean Gone-Carlo Stanton’s blast was the hardest of the season so far as it was shot 458 ft to the second deck in left center. It sent off with an exit velocity of 117.9 mph, which would break his previous hardest hit ball of the season (which had an exit velocity of 117.3) and was sent 426 ft on opening day in Toronto.
This is just a sneak peak of what the Evil Empire has in store and it felt like sweet October in April. Sharing the spotlight, Severino was also amazing; going 7.1 innings with 7 Ks and 6 hits as he is now 2-0 on the young season. Tanaka takes the mound tonight as the Orioles roll into the Bronx for an AL East showdown.
