Patrick McCaw of the Golden State Warriors was removed from a game against the Sacrament Kings Saturday night in a stretcher after suffering a nasty fall late in the 3rd quarter.
McCaw cut baseline and went up for a basket when he was met at the rim by Vince Carter. Vince shimmied away at the last second and McCaw tumbled over him and landed awkwardly on the floor. He immediately yelled in pain and received medical attention as soon as he hit the ground.
Carter was visibly upset after the incident, giving evidence that it was not his intention to injure McCaw. Players of both teams joined in prayer after McCaw was removed from the arena.
We wait patiently to hear the extent of Patrick’s injury and hope he returns to full health as soon as possible.
Update: McCaw has suffered a spine contusion and could return in as soon as three games from now. His MRI came back with no structural damage. We are relieved that both in serious has occurred with the injury.
