G League Player who collapsed on court passes away

Zeke Upshaw, 26, of the Grand Rapids Drive G League team passed away this morning after collapsing during a game on Saturday. He was taken directly to a hospital where he received care after the incident.

The reason for his sudden collapse has not been released yet and is yet unknown to the public.

The team’s official Twitter about confirmed his passing shortly after his passing.


He scored 11 points and helped the Drive clinch a playoff spot during his final game. His collapse occurred with 50 seconds remaining on the clock.

Zeke averaged 7.6 points per game during his 2 year G League career after going undrafted out of college.
